Lilit knew she wanted to deliver babies when she was 9 years old. She became a labor and delivery nurse because it got her toward her goal and taught her how to provide the 1:1 care that is crucial to helping women have positive birth outcomes. She became a Certified Nurse Midwife to fulfill her life's passion.
For 7 years, she was an RN-MSN at Cedars where she took part in over 500 deliveries at Cedars Sinai where she triaged patients, served as a patient advocate as a bedside nurse, assisted in C-Sections, and thoroughly enjoyed the shifts where she was the "roving" baby's nurse at a delivery. These L&D nursing experiences help her become a better midwife today.
Prior to co-founding Los Angeles Midwives, Lilit taught as a full time instructor at West Coast University teaching nursing students about Labor and Delivery theory, simulation and clinical rotations. She continues to teach in an adjunct role, and is currently on the faculty of UCLA's School of Nursing.
Lilit is passionate about teaching - whether it be labor theory to her nursing students, childbirth education to expectant mothers, or anything birth related to anyone who is willing to listen. She is passionate about education and continually strives to bring evidence based practices into the care that she delivers.
